On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence a group of Diaspora Armenians were awarded the highest state awards

By the decree of President Serzh Sargsyan, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence a group of Diaspora Armenians were awarded the highest state awards.

Some of the awards were handed today by the President of Armenia during the state reception held at the Sport and Concert Complex.

Ter Suren Archbishop Gataroyan (Lebanon) and Varuzhan Voskanian (Romania) were awarded Movses Khorenatsi medals for their considerable contribution to the preservation of the Armenian identity, services provided to Motherland and for greatly promoting friendship between the Republic of Armenia and foreign states.

Albert Boyajian (USA) and Vahe Karapetian (USA) were awarded Orders of Honor for their significant contribution to the promotion of national interest and infinite devotion, services provided to the Republic of Armenia, longstanding dedicated and prolific work.
