President Sarkissian sent a letter to the President of Cyprus: I have no doubt that at this difficult for Armenia and Artsakh moment the brotherly Cyprus is with us

President Armen Sarkissian sent a congratulatory message to the President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day.

President Sarkissian stressed the importance of the centuries-long friendship with Cyprus, historical and cultural ties and close relations anchored in common moral values which constitute a great base for deepening and developing cooperation with Armenia.

“As you are aware, in the early morning of September 27, Azerbaijan launched a large-scale attack against the Republic of Artsakh, targeting also the civilian population. For decades, Azerbaijan has been trying to solve the Nagorno Karabakh conflict through military force, violating all international and moral norms, refusing to find the key to a peaceful resolution of the conflict through the negotiations. Artsakh and Armenia are resisting together this adventurist and destructive polices backed by Turkey and will continue to provide an adequate retort to the enemy. I have no doubt that at this difficult for Armenia and Artsakh moment the brotherly Cyprus is with us,” the message of the President of Armenia states.

President Armen Sarkissian wished Nicos Anastasiades good health and success, as well as peace and continuous advancement to the friendly people of Cyprus.
