President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Czech Deputy Prime Minister Marian Jurečka

President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic, Marian Jurečka, who arrived in Armenia to participate in the international conference “Uniting for Social Justice.”

“Thank you for participating in the event, the theme of which—social justice, is very important. I highly value Armenia’s active engagement in discussions on this topic. I also want to emphasize the significance of the attention our international partners, including the International Labour Organization, give to this issue.

I particularly appreciate Your visit, taking into account the dynamic development of Armenian-Czech relations in recent times. I am confident that this visit will further contribute to the deepening of our bilateral relations and the continuation of this positive momentum,” the President noted.

Czech Deputy Prime Minister Marian Jurečka expressed his gratitude for the reception: “Thank you for welcoming me today, as well as our ambassador and my team. This is my first visit to Yerevan, Armenia, and I am undertaking it with great pleasure. Your country is wonderful. We are genuinely impressed by Armenia’s achievements, particularly in digitalization and other key areas.”

During the meeting, the prospects for Armenia–Czechia cooperation were discussed, both in bilateral terms and within the framework of the European Union. The sides touched upon the opportunities for expanding cooperation in high technologies, innovation, digitalization, and related sectors.

Regional developments and the security situation were also addressed. In this context, the President emphasized that Armenia has a clear position aimed at achieving a long-term, stable, and just peace and is ready to establish good-neighborly relations with all its neighbors based on the principles of mutual respect, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Both sides highly appreciated the democratic reforms implemented in Armenia in recent years. President Khachaturyan presented the ongoing efforts to improve the judicial system, strengthen state institutions, and combat corruption, stressing the importance of continuing these reforms. Within the context of the Armenia–Czechia partnership, the exchange of experience and the deepening of cooperation in these areas were also highlighted as priorities.
